Orem, UT  (RestaurantNews.com)  Bonrue Bakery is pulling up a chair in Orem just in time for the holidays. The French and European-style bakery, formerly known as Farmstead, opens Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1167 S. State St., with fresh croissants, its signature kouign-amann and a lineup of holiday pastries.

While doors open at 9 a.m., the party will begin with a ribbon-cutting at 8:55 a.m. Utah Valley University’s Willy the Wolverine will join the fun, along with local city officials, the Orem Chamber of Commerce and the Orem Business Alliance. The first 100 guests through the door will take home a Bonrue tote bag filled with merchandise and swag, and the celebration will last through 11 a.m.

For the team behind Bonrue, community is the main ingredient. Since the bakery’s start in 2021, it has built a loyal following across Southern Utah with flaky pastries, handcrafted bread and coffee, along with breakfast and lunch plates served fast enough to feed 100 guests in about 10 minutes. That means shorter waits and fuller bags for those dashing in before a family gathering.

“Thanksgiving is all about showing up for the people you love, and that is how we want Orem to feel about Bonrue,” said Chris Connors, co-founder of Bonrue Bakery. “We cannot wait to hand over our first pastries, meet our neighbors and become part of the traditions that fill their tables this season.”

Anyone hosting this year can skip the rolling pin. From Nov. 1 through Nov. 20, Bonrue is taking pre-orders for nine-inch Thanksgiving pies, ready for pickup Wednesday, Nov. 25, the day before the big feast.

Orem joins Bonrue’s bakeries in Provo, St. George, Hurricane and Springdale, and is the second of three Utah County locations planned for 2026. Spanish Fork is next on the list, and a Central Baking Kitchen in Springville will help keep the ovens humming along the Wasatch Front.

The Orem bakery will serve guests from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Sunday giving the local community a new spot for morning coffee and pastries, breakfast and lunch throughout the week.
