Deano’s Pasta of Somerville, MA, is recalling 20 pounds of Pear and Pecorino Triangoli Ravioli, because it may contain undeclared Lobster.
People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to crustacean shellfish, including lobster, run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products.
Pear and Pecorino Triangoli Ravioli was distributed in Massachusetts in retail stores between Aug. 8 and Sept. 22.
Deano’s Pasta brand Pear and Pecorino Triangoli Ravioli was packed in 1-pound bags, frozen, with lot codes 090126126, 082526126,081826126, and 073126126. The lot code can be found on the product label under best by date.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
The recall was initiated after a customer complaint led to an internal audit discovering that product containing Lobster was distributed in packaging that did not reveal the presence of the allergen. Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the company's production and packaging processes.
Consumers who have purchased Deano’s Pasta Pear and Pecorino Triangoli Ravioli should not consume the product and are urged to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
